I have the 2010. Close to 300hp. Much faster than I will ever need it to go. It will burn tires if my foot gets heavy. I have no idea why the acceleration score of 1. With my new tires, my highlander is the safest I have ever felt in any car at freeway speeds. You just don't feel how fast you're going.

I'm kinda torn between the new Highlander and the Lexus RX 350.

Very nice car! However, a brand new Subaru Outback is much of the same features type vehicle, at half the price of a new Highlander. I guess an Outback is the Highlander for, " We the poor folks". I would love to own either vehicle but, like everyone else, can't afford, right now.

Will you do a review of the new 2020 lexus rx 450h, pretty please? They are very comparable but I don't see that you've done any RX reviews.

I think people underestimate the Highlanders capability. 5000lb towing capacity, 295hp, 263 lb-ft and weighing 4k lbs, in my opinion for someone who needs a comfortable daily driver but also enjoys the outdoors and utilitarian use it is a great option.

Are you sure that rear view mirror isn’t the camera model like the RAV4?? I think you flip the dimmer switch and it changes to a camera. Please check this. Makes no sense to have a “screen” in the mirror otherwise.

You are right that so many other new models of SUVs and crossovers (and minivans) are getting shorter in height. That is a shame. I first was attracted to SUV's because of the taller more commanding riding position. Unfortunately, with each new introduction of a new model , the vehicle height is getting lower.

I remember when the highlander was a small little mini suv.

I'm glad the amazing interior colors were picked, instead of plain black. And the covers for rear windows to block the sun are on the XLE trim, that's something I can confirm as my mom owns the XLE trim (I have no car or license, I have 6 years left).

The highlander is good, but it cost more than the Sienna.

Toyota has been using the venerable 3.5 V6 for over a decade. Can't fix what ain't broken! Very smooth and powerful engine. No stupid timing belt either like the older V6's.

It's a run away WIN for the Palisade over Toyota... Loaded Palisade Limited is 5K less, and has the power features this doesn't. Sorry Toyota, you aren't keeping up...

Toyota Highlander is absolutely number one. Both of my Highlander SUVs drove past 300k miles without any major issues. Toyota rules! ❤️

I would give the Palisade 2 for the "cool factor" just because of it's mesmerizing DRL's and Features I would score it above the Highlander since the Highlander doesn't have the charging ports for the 3rd row, powered 3rd row, powered reclining 3rd row, net bags for cellphones for the 2nd row, no camera to show your blind spots when turning the signals, less configurability of the gauge cluster than the Palisade (Limited and Caligraphy models), tedious fragmented drive train select system, does it have "quiet mode" and "driver talk" features like the Palisade?, the ability to program the height of the rear tailgate, the list goes on...

You can't slide that seat with a rear facing car seat in it. It's going to remove it no matter what.

Don't care for the flattened wheel openings or the 'character line'.

I actually felt a lot of air from the rear vents.

One additional factor for many when deciding. Resale value. The Kia and Hyundai have terrible resale value where as Honda and Toyota excel in this area.

I believe you missed the HUD display, which displays both the analogue and digital speed display. You also missed the huge panoramic glass roof, heat/cool vented seats and the 20" diameter wheels. Outside of that not bad review.
