I’ve heard people claim that the 22B has a 3.9 second 0-60 ? Is that an urban legend or has this car just lost a lot of power since it’s almost a quarter of a century old ?

The GT track/rally car version does but the street version is like 5 seconds--which is what this is--in fact I believe it was mid 5s to 60. Suburu has a new 80k plus STI like this with modern gears and engine and they raced it against Hers is a 70k Diamond edition (todays version of this) vs a KIA stinger--KIA got off the line quicker but beat it by like 3 or 4 car lengths $ cylinder turbos have low torque and are great in rallies--but not good for str8 line ----grpost.info/will/0muVmsOka6Cbs9Y/b-nteo

In history, the invasion of Normandy in WWII was not named D-Day to abbreviate anything. The invasion was called D-Day because it was the fourth attempt at the invasion. A-Day, B-Day, and C-Day were all called off (primarily due to weather reasons), and D-Day was finally the day in which an invasion of Normandy was possible. Maybe 22B is there for a similar reason? It’s the 22nd attempt at the plan B design or something? Just spitballing. 🤷‍♂️

I’m a Subaru guy of old and the 22B is amazing. I loved the UK only P1. I didn’t buy one cos I was too young for the insurance company and they wanted a LOT to insure it. Looking at values creeping up now (not quite 22B territory yet) I wish I’d sucked up the cost.

6/10 Thinking Doug factors in exotics when he rates. Maybe factory production vehicles should be rated away from exotics. But the 2.2 liter 16 valve SOHC, not DOHC, was my favorite engine. Naturally aspirated or turboed. I traded in my 95 Outback in 2008 and I would guess that the engine is still humming along. Beautiful and smooth. Light. Loved that engine. Good video Doug.

Also did Peter Stevens the guy from McLaren who designed the body and styling of the wrc car including the P1 have nothing to do with the 22B either ?
